"In Greek mythology, Helios personified the Sun, often depicted as a beautiful god driving a chariot drawn by four fiery horses across the sky each day. His iconic journey showcases the natural cycle of day and night, highlighting Helios’ significance as an all-seeing deity."
Helios is the god who personifies the Sun. His name is also Latinized as Helius, and he is often given the epithets Hyperion ("the one above") and Phaethon ("the shining"). Helios is often depicted in art with a radiant crown and driving a horse-drawn chariot through the sky.

The term "rigmarole"
The term "rigmarole" is a colloquialism of "ragman roll" that means "a long list". The first records of "rigmarole" date back to around the 1730s.
The term originated in Middle English around 1350–1400, and may come from the Anglo-French Ragemon le bon, which means "Ragemon the good". The term may also refer to a long list, catalog, or register.
Some of the Ragman Rolls are held in the National Archives (United Kingdom) at Kew, including two copies from the Chapter House at Westminster Abbey and another from the Tower of London.
The Ragman Rolls are the only known complete list of Scotland's nobility from the late 13th century.
A series of parchment rolls that record the Scottish nobility's pledge of loyalty to Edward I. The rolls were created during and after Edward's 1296 campaign through Scotland, and at the parliament of Berwick.
The Ragman Rolls are a collection of documents created between 1291 and 1296, in which Scottish nobles and gentry swore allegiance to King Edward I of England.
A series of parchment rolls that record the Scottish nobility's pledge of loyalty to Edward I. (Rag man rolls).
To reinforce his domination of the blighted Scottish nation, 1,500 earls, bishops and burgesses such as Stevene Stevenson were required to sign a humiliating treaty of fealty.
..known as the Ragman Roll, because of the number of ribbons that dangled from the seals of the reluctant signatories.
A family of the name are believed to have been firmly settled before the eleventh century Norman invasion in Northumberland, in the north of England, with wealthy landholdings in the area of present-day Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and with a family seat at Knaresdale Hall.
By the mid-12th century, a branch of the family settled in the Scottish Borders in the parish of Newlands, near Peebles, and it is from here that we find a Stevene Stevenson recorded on the infamous Ragman Roll of 1296.
Some sources assert that the Stevenson name and its rather bewildering number of variations were first introduced to British shores in the wake of the Norman Conquest of 1066, but there is also evidence that the names may have become established some time before this.
December 26 – popularly recognised by Western Christians as St Stephen’s Day, or the Feast of Stephen.
Commonly depicted with a crown, denoting martyrdom for Christianity, he is venerated as a saint by the Anglican, Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Lutheran churches.
The ‘Stevenson’ form is almost unique to Scotland, while the ‘Stephenson’ form is more popular south of the Border – but what both have in common is that, denoting ‘son of Steven’, or ‘son of Stephen’, they honour St Stephen.
Recognised as the first Christian martyr after Christ, the saint was stoned to death by a furious mob around 34-35 A.D. after being deemed guilty of blasphemy by the priests of the Temple in Jerusalem.
Denmark to Glasgow (1100)
The Stinson’s first arrival >> Glascow
The Stinson surname is English and Scottish, and has many variants, including Stephenson, Stevenson, and Steenson. The Stinson family first arrived in Glasgow from Denmark around 1100, and changed their name to Anglicize it.
The first known “cheer” in the US was shouted from the crowd at Princeton University in 1884:
Ray, Ray, Ray!
Tiger, Tiger, Tiger!
Sis, Sis, Sis!
Boom, Boom, Boom
Aaaaah! Princeton, Princeton, Princeton!
Cheerleading's origins can be traced back to the 1860s, when students in Great Britain began cheering for their favorite athletes at sporting events.

Nicetas (Russian Ники́та Nikita, Ukrainian Мики́та Mykyta, from GreekΝικήτας Niketas) is a Christian martyr of the 4th century.
Nicetas the Goth
..venerated particularly in the Eastern Orthodox Church

Nicetas was of Gothic origin, living during the 4th century AD. His life spanned the years of Emperor Constantine the Great's sole rule (324-337 AD).
He belonged to the upper social class of his people. Nicetas was instructed in Christianity by Theophilus of Gothia, a converted bishop, between 325 and 341 AD.
..of the native pagan religion and the adoption of the Roman Emperor's religion, which was Christianity, then considered the religion of the enemy
His martyrdom occurred during the persecution initiated by Athanaric, a judge (iudex) of the Visigothic tribes, after 374 AD. The persecution was fueled by the rejection.
Nicetas' story highlights the tensions between pagan and Christian beliefs during this era and his sacrifice underlines the spread of Christianity among Gothic tribes.
Nicetas, a Gothic soldier, lived in the Danube region at the margins of the Byzantine Empire.[2] Presumably, he received his Greek name on the occasion of his baptism by the Gothic bishop Theophilus, a participant in the First Ecumenical Council.

Pagan Goths began to oppose the spread of Christianity, which resulted in internecine strife. Nicetas fought in the Gothic civil war between the pagan Athanaric and the Christian Fritigern..
After the defeat of Athanaric and after the invention of Gothic alphabets by Ulfilas, Nicetas worked intensely among the Goths..
..to his Passio, the devil, shaped as an angel, induced Nicetas to sacrifice to the pagan gods for saving his life; Nicetas, however, put him to flight by means of prayer and assisted by archangel Michael..
After a few years, Athanarichus returned, defeated Fritigern, and resumed his persecution of Christians.Nicetas was condemned to the stake in 372.
Part of his relics were later given to the monastery of Vysokie Dechani in Serbia. In Greece, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, and Cyprus there are several churches and monasteries named after St Nicetas. See Church of Saint Nicetas.
The veneration of this saint in the medieval period gave rise to the Slavic forms of his name: Nikita, Mykyta and Mikita. St Nicetas is prayed to for the preservation of children from birth defects.
